Daniel F. Monahan

Daniel (“Dan”) Monahan has been handling personal injury cases for more than 40 years. After working for major insurance companies in the early 1980s, Dan founded his own firm in 1987 devoted exclusively to helping the victims of serious injury. Since then, Dan has helped his clients receive millions of dollars in compensation for injuries they sustained through no fault of their own. His clients appreciate his personal attention to protect their interests, and he is known to fight with the powerful weapons of the law to obtain the compensation his clients deserve.

Dan’s clients include those that have suffered abuse at the hands of clergy members, boy scout leaders, a variety of individuals and institutions in custodial care of children, and injuries due to the negligence and neglect of others, among many things.

Dan graduated cum laude from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Arts in History in 1975. He received his law degree from Villanova University School of Law in 1978 and a Masters in Law from Villanova in 2000. He is admitted to practice law before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, all Pennsylvania state courts, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals.

A member of the American Association for Justice, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association and the Chester County Bar Association, Dan is also a Fellow of the Academy of Trial Advocacy.

Dan has been named by Main Line Today as one of the “Best Attorneys” in the Philadelphia suburbs. He has also been rated AV Preeminent by members of the Bar and the Judiciary, which is the highest possible rating a lawyer can obtain by Martindale-Hubbell® Peer Review Ratings™. In addition, Dan is Board Certified in Trial Advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy, the only such organization recognized by the American Bar Association. Story involving Dan’s practice can be found in Main Line Today and the Philadelphia Inquirer.

He’s 67 now, but Dan Monahan was once an alter boy serving Roman Catholic masses in rural Connecticut. At his small church, Father Y (the only name he knew the priest by) was revered. “We were told that he was God on earth,” says Monahan… “And so we were indoctrinated.”  [Read about Dan’s fight for victims of clergy sexual abuse in Main Line Today. live link]
