In the fourth suit to be filed in the month of March, 2011, Dan Monahan, attorney for a former Northeast Philadelphia altar boy, alleges in the Complaint against the Archdiocese of Philadelphia that his client, only identified as John Doe 168 to protect his identity, was sexually absed between the years 1988 and 1991 by Msgr. John Gillespie, then pastor of Our Lady of Calvary Church along Knights Road. This was the second claim alleging that Msgr. Gillespie was the perpetrator. According to the Grand Jury Report issued by the District Attorney’s office in 2005 and 2011, Msgr. Gillespie had been identified by the Archdiocese as a suspected child abuser. Nevertheless, he was not removed from ministry until 2001. Since then Msgr. Gillespie has died.
